Throughout the history of Spotlight we have had experienced artists from Peru and the United States who participated in our programs as teachers in the disciplines of singing, acting and dancing.
Ashley Klinger

ASHLEY KLINGER
Graduated from Point University in Georgia and coming from a fourth generation of ballet dancers. Ashley is a professional dancer and teacher.
She has toured nationally and internationally as Kristine in A Chorus Line, Cirque Believe, and Henson's Flight. She has also participated in other musicals like Anything Goes, Swing!, La Cage Aux Folles.
She has choreographed in productions such as “Love And Other Drugs” and “Law and Order: SVU”.
Other performance favorites include Stroman's The Merry Widow, Pippin as Fastrada, MAC Cosmetics Model, Ziegfeld model, Head Over Heels (DC u/s Gynecia), Wedding Singer (assistant choreography, U/S Linda), Verb Ballets company dancer, and many more.
Her most recent involvement has been as Associate Director and Choreographer in “Escape to Margaritaville” at the Engeman Theatre.
Presciliana Esparolini

PRESCILIANA ESPAROLINI
She recently premiered in Off Broadway in the production of 'Our Man In Santiago'. She is currently acting on the series Mayans MC and has had appearances on NCIS: Hawaii, NCIS: L.A., All Rise, The Rookie, 9-1-1, Goliath, and Thirteen Reasons Why.
She received her MFA from the American Conservatory of Theater and her stage credits include the Manhattan Playhouse, La Jolla Playhouse, The Road Theatre, The Odyssey, Boston Court, among others.
Presciliana's most recent work can be seen in the film 'Cherry' directed by Joe & Anthony Russo, 'The Disappearance of Mrs. Wu' directed by Anna Chi and 'Beginnings, Endings' directed by Drake Doremus. Recent recent releases include 'Old Flames' directed by Stephan Brand and 'The Slim Down: New World Order'.
Roland Ruiz
Performing Arts Program 2023 (A Chorus Line)
ROLAND RUIZ
Roland Ruiz is a film, television and theater actor based in Los Angeles. You can see him in the Richard Linklater-directed movie Boyhood, as well as the movies Machete, Contraband, Getting Schooled, and Lars the Emo Kid.
He has appeared on multiple television shows including All Rise, Highland, Seal Team, How to Get Away With Murder, Pure Genius, Minority Report, The Comeback, The Bridge, The Good Guys, and The Deep End. His stage credits include Ammunition Theater Co., Davidson/Valentini Theatre, Stages Rep Theatre, Wortham Theatre, CTF, Wortham Theatre, among many others.
He studied acting with Carolyn Boone, Rutherford Cravens, Sidney Berger, and John Homa. She also participated in The Upright Citizens Brigade and Quatre Falcon in Paris, France. In addition to training for combat acting, he is fluent in Spanish.
Elizabeth McGuire

ELIZABETH MCGUIRE
Elizabeth is an artist and performing arts educator based in New York. She has a BFA in Musical Theater from Samford University. She has studied tap, jazz, ballet, and contemporary dance at Steps On Broadway and other professional companies.
She has been an associate choreographer and dance captain for shows such as “Saturday Night Fever”, “Legally Blonde”, “Mary Poppins”, “42nd Street”, “Something Rotten”, “A Chorus Line” and “Newsies”.
She has also appeared in concerts and television shows such as "Make The Season Bright", "Theatre of Dreams" and "Concert With The Stars" as a featured dancer.
Alejandra Valera

ALEJANDRA VALERA
Alejandra Valera is a dancer, teacher, choreographer, singer and psychologist. She began her dance training at the Liliana Rovegno Dance Studio. She has taken various seminars and courses in Lima, Argentina, New York and Brazil. She was part of the Municipal Ballet of Lima. She has participated in musicals such as Mezcla, El Musical 2010, Tu Lima, Chicago, El Chico de Oz, Sweet Charity, Av Larco, El Musical 2015 and Mamma Mia. She served as the choreographic director on the musicals Cinderella and Billy Elliot.
She was director of the Vania Masías D1 School for 3 years. She was the winner of the Aibal Award for Performing Arts in 2015 in the Best Dance Performer category. She was part of the D1 Company, with which she has performed in New York at the Choreographers Festival, Bountiful and at the Easter Bonet.
Eve Harlow

EVE HARLOW
Eve Harlow was born in Moscow, Russia, and spent the first seven years of her life in Israel, but she began her career in Canada, where her love for film and theater made her actively pursue acting. By the age of 19, she Eve had won a Leo award (which celebrates television and film in British Columbia, Canada), and was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress in a Dramatic Series award at the Canadian Screen Awards (formerly known as the Geminis ).
Over the years, Eve has built up an impressive and diverse resume - she was a fragile, torn-in-between-loyalties love interest on the CW series The 100; a rebellious secret agent in the NBC series Heroes: Reborn; in Marvel's Agents of SHIELD she was a renegade trying to survive a morbid dystopia, a recovering drug addict in Paramount's Instant Family, and a hacker who works for the FBI in Fox Televisions' limited series Next. Other credits include UnREAL, The Killing, Fargo, Lost Girl, Caprica, 12 Monkeys, Ray Donovan, Rogue, SEAL Team, NCIS, The Rookie, Queen of the South, and Titans.
Coming up, you'll be able to see Eve as an unhinged assassin in the new Netflix series The Night Agent, and as the villain in the fifth season of Star Trek: Discovery.

He is an actor and educator from Salt Lake City, Utah. He has worked in educational theater spaces in Los Angeles and Boston in the United States, as well as in Kelantan, Malaysia through the Fulbright Program, focusing on acting and designing techniques with young people of primary and secondary school age.

DREW HUMPHREY
Drew Humphrey (Director/Choreographer/Educator/Performer): After completing his BFA in Dance from the University of Arizona, Drew spent the next 20 years pursuing his directing and performing career in NYC. Broadway: Irving Berlin’s White Christmas (Ensemble, Cast Recording); New York/Tours: Of Thee I Sing (Encores!), Lady Be Good (Encores!, Cast Recording), 42nd Street (Ensemble, 1st Natl.); Regional: Holiday Inn (Ted Hanover, Drury Lane) and others across the US. Drew also had the honor to perform at the Kennedy Center for Ted Kennedy and President Obama. His directing and choreography credits include: Oklahoma, Mary Poppins, A Chorus Line, Singin’ In The Rain, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Guys and Dolls, 42nd Street, and Gypsy. Drew’s educational contributions include guest teaching, master classes, guest directing, and choreographing at high schools and Universities. He has also a regular contributor for Variety: The Children's Charity where he helped create and directed an inclusive theatre camp for children of all abilities.
Daniel Plimpton

DANIEL PLIMPTON
Daniel has appeared in the Broadway national tours of "The Book of Mormon", "Spring Awakening" and "Irving Berlin's White Christmas". He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre from the Boston Conservatory.
Regionally, Daniel has worked all over the US, with favorite venues being Denver Center for the Performing Arts in Colorado, Pioneer Theatre in Salt Lake City, Maltz Jupiter Theatre in Florida, North Carolina Theatre, Eugene O'Neill Playwrights Conference in Connecticut, Engeman Theatre in New York, and many more. Daniel has appeared in concerts at Jazz at Lincoln Center with Bobby Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez (composers of "Frozen"), Birdland, Merkin Hall, Town Hall, and with the Boston Pops at Symphony. Daniel loves both developing new musicals and also performing and tap dancing in the classics. Training: BFA in Musical Theatre at The Boston Conservatory.

MANDY MODIC
Mandy works professionally in musical theater and dance as a performer, choreographer, director, and educator. She performs at theaters all around Chicago and at various theaters around the US, and performed for a year on the National Tour of 42nd Street. She also works in film and tv, primarily on commercials. Mandy has been working with Spotlight since 2019 when she first came down to Lima to choreograph Wicked. She is so excited to return and finally meet some of the Spotlight students she’s been working with virtually for almost two years now!! As an educator, she helped develop a musical theater program for kids in Shanghai, China, and works with students of all ages all over the world. GEORGIA PAULEY
Georgia Pauley began her dance training at the Hyde Park School of Dance in Chicago, Illinois, where she studied ballet, modern, contemporary, African and jazz dance for 16 years. From the ages of 13 to 18, Georgia was a pre-professional company member at the Hyde Park School of Dance, where she danced lead roles in famous ballets such as The Nutcracker and Cinderella. Since then, she has performed with multiple reputable dance companies in Chicago, including the South Chicago Dance Theatre, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago Summer Intensive, and the Deeply Rooted Dance Theatre Summer Intensive.

JOEY MERLO
Joey Merlo is a 2019 New York Foundation for the Arts Artist Fellow and the Playwright-in-Residence at the Off-Broadway, Abingdon Theatre Company where his play Arancini is currently being developed. His pilot, No Name for Tennessee, has recently been offered a shopping agreement from OBB Media. Joey is the Artistic Director of Wolfpack Theatrics which co-produced a history-making, critically acclaimed production of A Streetcar Named Desire featuring a gender-queer/trans actor in the iconic role of Blanche DuBois. He is an artist who has worked all over the world including Ghana, where he completed a documentary on the illegality of homosexuality called Voices, and Greece, where he took part in a collaborative residency that focused on creating public art installations and theatre with both Athenian activists and students, inspiring his play, Athens on the Half Shell (Greek Cultural Center, LPAC). Produced plays include: The Witch of St. Elmora Street (Dixon Place, Access Theatre) and This Boy Cometh to the Mountain (Rough Draft Festival). He is a graduate of the Experimental Theatre Wing at NYU, Tisch School of the Arts and an NYU Lab alum. He lives in Washington.

CHARLIE JUNKINS
Allison es una creadora de teatro que vive en Nueva York. Se graduó en la Escuela de Artes Tisch de la Universidad de Nueva York, donde estudió actuación y dirección en la Escuela de Teatro Playwrights Horizons y Shakespeare en el Estudio Clásico. Ha trabajado extensamente con Richard Schechner y ayudó a diseñar su estreno en Estados Unidos de “Imagining O” (NYTimes Critic Pick).
Other devised work includes her play THREE, for which she and her collaborators were awarded a grant for emerging female artists. She has a strong interest in developing new work and had produced/performed at Dixon Place, The Access Theater, Judson Memorial Church, New Ohio, IRT, and The Culture Project. Allison is also a registered yoga teacher, and when not in the theater can be found teaching all around New York City.

CHRIS LARKIN
Christopher Larkin started acting at the age of 12, when he was cast in the lead role of Hallmark Entertainment's The Flamingo Rising. He then went on to train at the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, before entering Fordham University as a theatre major. Midway through his sophomore year, he made his professional theater debut in the off-Broadway production of Back From the Front. He then took off the fall semester of his senior year to play the title role in Kafka on the Shore at Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago. Additional New York theater credits include Nomad Motel (Atlantic Theater), Fast Company (Ensemble Studio Theatre), The Sugar House at the Edge of the Wilderness (Ma-Yi), Futura (NAATCO), When Last We Flew (Sundance Lab 2010) and Always Family (Theatre Row). Regionally, he has performed in Wolf Play (Artists Repertory) and Oblivion (Pittsburgh City Theatre). For 5 seasons, he portrayed the character of Monty Green on the CW series "The 100."

DANIELA LANZARA
Daniela Lanzara studied Performing Arts at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. She has worked with many recognized directors, such as Juan Carlos Fisher, Aldo Miyashiro and Alberto Isola. In 2017 and 2018, she directed the play “Las mujeres de los nazis”, by Héctor Levy – Daniel at Teatro del Olivar. She worked as a drama teacher for kids between the ages of 3 and 9 at the Hans Christian Anderson school in Lima (2018). Ever summer since 2016 she’s run the theater workshops at the cultural association Arte para Crecer. Since 2019, she currently teachers drama for Junio and Middle schoolers at the Cambridge College of Lima while acting at ENSAD (Escuela Nacional Superior de Arte Dramático). Daniela is also a voice actress for radio and television.

He is also is a recurring character on the Apple TV show ‘Dickinson’ (Starring Hailee Steinfeld and Jane Krakowski). He has also performed on stage in productions with Manhattan Theatre Club, New York Theatre Workshop, Playwright’s Realm, Transport Group, La Mama, The National Black Theater and Regionally at Seattle Rep and Everyman Theatre in Baltimore.

Brittany Halls is an actor based in New York City, origi- nally from San Diego, CA. Brittany received her BFA in Acting (summa cum laude) from Emerson College in Boston, MA. She has extensive improvisation experience, having studied and graduated from The People’s Improv Theatre in New York City and has performed improv in many venues including the famed UCB The- atre. She most recently completed a residency at Cotuit Center for the Arts in Cape Cod, MA performing her one-woman show “Brittany Loves Lucy” for which she was recognized as a Critic’s Favorite. She is currently editing a new web series that she also co-produced and starred in, which is set to be released this summer.

Michael Barra is originally from Durham, CT. He was a theater major at The Greater Hartford Academy of The Arts, and the SUNY Purchase acting conservatory. Most recently Michael has appeared in A Bronx Tale The Musical, both on Broadway and the National Tour. His past credits include The Amazing Spider-Man, The Greatest Showman, Law & Order: SVU, Gotham, Blue Bloods, The Deuce, and more. In his spare time Michael enjoys watching baseball and going to art museums.

TONY CARTER
Tony Carter is an actor from Chicago Illinois. He has worked professionally at theatres across the United States for over 13 years, but has been onstage since his childhood. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Southern Utah University and has starred in Dramas, Musicals, and even Shakespeare. He especially loves crafting larger than life comedic characters where he can really put his creativity and wit to the test. Some favorite roles include Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast, Freddy in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Don Lockwood in Singing in the Rain, Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, and Aldolpho in The Drowsy Chaperone.

Actress. Dancer. Singer. Teacher and Choreographer. Cary trained in musical theater in Buenos Aires. Winner of the BAEE scholarship (Scholarship for Specific Assignment for Foreigners) at the Julio Bocca - Ricky Pashkus School of Classical Dance and Musical Comedy (Buenos Aires - Argentina). Member of BIG BANG Showchoir (Bs. As.). Graduated from the Aranwa Theater Training Center of Jorge Chiarella and Celeste Viale Yerovi. She studied classical and contemporary dance at Ballet San Marcos. She studied singing with renowned Argentine and Peruvian teachers: Lola Gonda, Silvia Meuli, Gabriel Centeno, Florencia Carchak, and Lorena R. Vera. She studied Movement Education at PUCP (Lima-Peru) and is currently studying for her Bachelor in Primary Education at USMP.

KIARA REBAZA
EN: Actress, Singer, Vocal Coach, and Vocal Director, graduated from Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC) where she studied Contemporary music, theatre with David Carrillo, and musical theatre in Preludio. In 2013 she won the Laureate Red scholarship that gave her the opportunity to study Musical Theatre at the Santa Fe University of Arts and Design. For her thesis as a vocal interpreter, she wrote and acted in the unipersonal musical play "7 Décadas Después". She also teaches at the Instituto Nacional de Teatro Musical (INATEM) and she is currently the Vocal Director of the original Peruvian musical play "El Invasor" by Sebastian Santoro.

TIFFANY MELLARD
Born and raised in Bronx, New York, Tiffany Mellard began her dance training at Mind Builders Creative Arts Center and Dr. Daniel Hale Williams Middle School. She continued her studies at Norte Maar Conservatory of Dance, Harlem School of the Arts, Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, and the American Dance Festival.
Tiffany received her Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Dance from Florida State University with a certificate in Arts in Community Practice. Tiffany has performed works by Krystal Hall-Glass, Kevin Iega Jeff, Sidra Bell, Milton Myers, Pedro Ruiz, Bill T. Jones, Jawole Willa Jo Zollar, Darshan Bhuller, Trebien Pollard, Leah Cox, Nathan Trice, Gerry McIntyre, Yara Travieso, and Gerri Houlihan. She has also performed original choreography by Jerome Robbins, Ann Reinking, and Andy Blankenbeuler.
Tiffany is currently in the "And Peggy" company of Hamilton: An American Musical by Lin-Manuel Miranda where she performed in San Juan, PR and San Francisco, CA. Other credits include Memphis (Gateway Playhouse), Chicago The Musical (National Tour), and West Side Story (International Tour). She has also been a teaching artist with Learning through an Expanded Arts Program (LEAP) in New York City and was on the dance faculty at Mind Builders Creative Arts Center. In addition, Tiffany just graduated from Harvard University with a Masters in Education
John DeLuca

JOHN DELUCA
Originally hailing from a small town in western Massachusetts, John graduated from Fordham University in New York City with a B.A. in theatre (where he and Chris Larkin were roommates!). He has since made his way to Los Angeles where he has spent the past ten years working steadily in TV and film. While widely known for playing “Butchy” in the popular Disney Channel movies Teen Beach Movie and Teen Beach 2, John has lots of other TV credits that include recurring roles on ABC Family’s Twisted, Hulu’s East Los High, Relationship Status: Update, and the long-running ABC soap General Hospital. And guest stars on shows like Jessie (Disney), American Horror Story (FX), How To Get Away With Murder (ABC), and Instant Mom (Nickelodeon). Some film credits include Staten Island Summer (from Executive Producer Lorne Michaels for Netflix that saw John play opposite SNL's Cecily Strong, Bobby Moynihan and Fred Armisan), Chalk it up, Killer Dream Home (Lifetime), Merry Christmas Match (Hallmark), and soon to be released Sundance hit Spree (opposite Stranger Things’ Joe Keery).

RACHEL SUSSMAN
Rachel Sussman is a Tony Award-nominated producer and a co-founder of The MITTEN Lab, an emerging theatre artist residency program in her native state of Michigan as well as The Business of Broadway, a new educational company designed to explore the ins and outs of theatrical producing. She has worked with such companies as Audible Theater, The Sundance Institute Theatre Lab, Second Stage Theatre, RKO Stage, and Lincoln Center's American Songbook. Producing credits include: Heidi Schreck's Pulitzer Prize finalist and Tony Award-nominated play, What the Constitution Means to Me (Broadway/National Tour), the Obie Award-winning production of The Woodsman (Off-Broadway), and Eh Dah? Questions for My Father (Next Door at NYTW). In development: Suffragist by Shaina Taub, Devotion by Mark Sonnenblick. A past Women's Project Lab Time Warner Foundation Fellow, Rachel was the recipient of the 2019 Geraldine Stutz T. Fellowship in Creative Producing, founded by Hal Prince in conjunction with Columbia University. She is a graduate of the Commercial Theater Institute and a University Honors Scholar alumna of NYU Tisch.

Paul Pontrelli holds an MFA in Acting from NYU Tisch's Graduate Acting program. Paul was in rehearsals for Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey's new musical The Visitor at The Public Theater, before NYC's stay-at-home orders.
New York theatre credits include The Flick (u/s, Barrow Street Theatre), This Clement World (St. Ann’s Warehouse), Donogoo (The Mint Theater Company), Stephen Schwartz' Captain Louie (Little Shubert Theatre). Athena Pauley

ATHENA PAULEY
Athena Pauley began her dance training at the Hyde Park School of Dance in 2006. Ms. Pauley has been a member of the Pre-Professional Studio Company TNG at the Hyde Park School of Dance since 2015. In the 2017 annual production of The Nutcracker, Athena was chosen for the coveted role of Clara. Over the years, she has also performed variations from ballets such as the Esmerelda variation.
In 2017, Athena attended Ballet West’s Artemotion Summer Intensive in Cleveland, Ohio and returned to Chicago to attend the Hubbard Street Summer Intensive. In 2019, she spent two weeks in New York with the New York Dance Project Summer Intensive and then another 5 weeks in Salt Lake City, Utah with the Ballet West Summer Intensive Program.
Additionally, Athena has attended the HPSD Young Choreographers Workshop for four years in which she has created several of her own works on students.

JUSTIN PEREZ
Justin Perez is a NYC based writer and director. He has developed work with MCC Theatre's Education Department, Cease & Desist, Woodshed Collective, AMiOS Theatre, The Lark, Columbia University's Graduate Directing Program, and Williamstown Theatre Festival. He graduated with a BFA in Musical Theatre from Emerson College.
